Why is Link Building Important?
In Google's eyes, every incoming link is a vote for your site. If many quality sites link to you, it sends a strong message: this is a credible source.
But beware: not all links are equal. One quality link is stronger than 100 spam links, and those 100 spam links can also harm your site.
What Counts as a Quality Link?
- From a relevant site, if you're a car dealer, from a car-related site
- High authority domain (DR/DA)
- In a natural context, not stuffed into a silly tag
- From a live, indexed page, not deleted or noindexed
- Varied anchor text, not all the same keyword
What No Longer Works
1. PBNs (Private Blog Networks)
Google has been easily detecting and penalizing them for years.
2. Link Farms
The "$5 = 1000 links" type of service. Don't.
3. Excessive Exact Match Anchor Text
If every incoming link contains the exact same keyword, it's unnatural, and suspicious.
4. Mass Guest Posting on Low-Quality Sites
100 poor guest articles aren't worth as much as 5 good ones.
What Works in the international market in 2026
1. Content Marketing → Natural Links
Create content that others will gladly link to. Data analyses, guides, industry reports. This is the longest game, but the cleanest.
2. HARO-style PR
Journalists look for experts, you respond, they quote you. international versions: expert-gathering sites, industry magazines.
3. Guest Articles on Quality Professional Blogs
On industry-specific sites, with valuable content. E.g., an accounting firm could write for the Számlazz.hu blog or Piac & Profit.
4. Local Directories and Chambers
In international markets, this still works: appearances on industrial chambers' sites, local business directories, professional associations' pages.
5. Partners, Suppliers
If you have a meaningful collaboration, ask for a reciprocal link in the "Our Clients / Our Partners" section.
6. Case Studies and Interviews
If your clients get interesting stories from you (with numbers) that are relevant to others, they often feature them on their own sites.
The Realistic Pace
Don't expect 100 new links per month. For a healthy international KKV, 2-5 quality links per month is already a good result, and in the long run, it's about this:
- 30-60 good links in 1 year → noticeable ranking improvement
- 100+ quality links in 2 years → reputable domain
How to Get Started?
- Audit: check Ahrefs/Semrush or Google Search Console to see your current links
- Competitor Analysis: who links to your competitors? Many of these sites you can also access
- Content Strategy: what on your site is worth linking to?
- Outreach List: 50-100 sites where you would be relevant
- Monthly Routine: 5-10 outreach attempts per week
Link building is a marathon, not a sprint. But if you do it cleanly, the results will still be there in 5-10 years.
