Most people who search for a WooCommerce SEO service do not want another checklist. They want someone, or something, to get the work done.
We are Somos Media. We run our own webshops, we do SEO for client stores, and we built Vistobi because we got tired of doing the same checks by hand every month. So when a store owner asks us "should I hire you?", our honest answer is often "maybe not yet". Here is how we think it through with them.
What the work actually is
Whoever does it, store SEO comes down to the same jobs. When we take on a new store, this is the order we go in:
| What we check | What we usually find |
|---|---|
| Indexing in Search Console | Category pages left out, or filter and cart URLs let in |
| Category pages | A bare product grid with no text above or below it |
| Product pages | The supplier's description, copied word for word |
| Titles and descriptions | Pages on page one of Google that nobody clicks |
| Google Merchant Center | Products disapproved for a missing GTIN or shipping detail |
| Content | A blog that never links to the products it talks about |
| Reporting | Rankings tracked, orders not |
None of this is secret. It just takes time, every month, and that is what you are really paying for.
Our first suggestion: try Vistobi
For most small and mid-sized stores we suggest starting with Vistobi, our own app. It does the checking and the first draft of the fixes, and you decide what goes live.
You connect your WooCommerce store, Search Console, Google Analytics and Merchant Center once. After that, Vistobi puts a short list on your Today page: this product page has no meta description, this category ranks fifth but gets almost no clicks, these three products were disapproved in Merchant Center. Next to each one it writes a suggested fix.
If you install the free Vistobi Bridge plugin, an approved title or description goes straight into Yoast or Rank Math, on products, pages and posts alike. Blog articles arrive in WordPress as drafts, so nothing is published without you. Sales, best sellers, slow movers and low stock sit on the same screen, which helps you decide which pages deserve the work first.
In practice that is about an hour a week of reading and approving. Plans start at €49 a month, with a 7-day free trial and a 14-day money-back guarantee.
When it makes sense to hand it to us
We tell store owners to bring in an agency when one of these is true:
- You honestly will not find that hour a week.
- You have thousands of products and need rules, not page-by-page edits.
- You are redesigning the shop or moving platforms, where one wrong redirect can cost months of traffic.
- You want new category pages and buying guides written, not only fixed.
In those cases our team at Somos Media does the whole job: audit, fixes, content, Merchant Center and a monthly report that shows orders, not just positions. We work in Vistobi ourselves, so you can see exactly what changed and when.
Doing it yourself
If you enjoy this kind of work and have the time, you can do all of it with free tools. Our WooCommerce SEO checklist puts the steps in the order we would follow.
The three options side by side
| Do it yourself | Vistobi | Somos Media | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your time | Several hours a week | About an hour a week | A short monthly call |
| Cost | Free tools | From €49 a month | Monthly fee, quoted after an audit |
| Who spots the problems | You | Vistobi | We do |
| Who writes the fixes | You | Vistobi drafts, you approve | We do |
| Good fit for | Learning, very small shops | Most small and mid-sized stores | No time, large or complex stores |
You are not locked in. You can start with Vistobi and call us later for a migration, or the other way round.
Six questions we would ask any provider, including us
- Which pages will you change first, and why those?
- Will you work inside my current SEO plugin, or replace it?
- Will the report show orders, or only rankings and traffic?
- Do you look after Google Merchant Center?
- If we stop working together, who keeps the content, the accounts and the data?
- What is the notice period?
If the answers are vague, keep looking.
